April + Colton

Let me tell you, I had a blast doing April and Colton’s flowers for their wedding! Fun colors, lots of texture, and some really neat elements.

April and Colton’s wedding colors were bright coral, light turquoise, and ivory. As a florist, sometimes it is hard to deliver on flower request that are blue. There are so many different shades of blue a bride can choose: navy, royal, turquoise, mint, teal, tiffany, baby blue, sky, and many more. There are so few of flowers that are blue that it is quite tricky for a florist. One trick that I have up my sleeve is spray paint specifically designed for flowers. And that is exactly what I used to have April’s light turquoise flowers.

In April’s bouquet, I used pincushion protea, hydrangea, roses in both coral and ivory colors, baby’s breath, wax flower, and Italian ruscus. I also wrapped her bouquet in burlap, then I had lace overlap and trail.

April also had the great idea to have the boutonniere’s in shotgun shells. Colton’s boutonniere was light turquoise roses, hypericum berries, and wax flower with a little bit of jute around the shotgun shell.

I am so happy with how their flowers turned out. Don’t you just love them?!
